Ivy Prep Curriculum
STREAM curriculum allows students to learn vital skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration and innovation along with essential technology skills sets. So if only the STEM curriculum would be stressed, students would only be acquiring technical skills and come up with innovative ideas without evaluating the human aspects.
Humanities is actually a stream that helps students to know more on the human society, ideologies, beliefs and knowing more on humanity expressing itself in terms of art, architecture etc.
The infusing of ‘Reading & wRiting’ into STEM model was important because it has been found that writing like any other art helps in teaching an entire range of tools for thinking which are required to be creative in any discipline.

Academics
All classes offer project-based learning, and incorporate single-gender strategies
designed to engage and connect young women throughout the school day.
We are a school for girls and guarantee our teaching strategy will connect with your scholar.
Scholar Intervention
Scholars will be identified as the bottom quartile through a multiple-selection criteria. The intensity of need will determine the level of intensity in services- virtual one-on-one, after school one-on-one or small group, or Saturday Academy. A pre/post test will be administered to measure baseline and growth. A goal based on assessments will be developed with action steps or an IEP goal will be selected.
Targeted scholars will move from one Tier to the next in 1-2 administrations of iReady.
Ivy Preparatory Upper Academy
Ivy Preparatory Upper Academy serves scholars in sixth through eighth grade. The Upper Academy has a strong focus on preparing scholars for high school and college. Ivy Prep has adopted a new teaching technique, STREAM. STREAM is the integration of STREAM subjects (science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and mathematics). This is a multi-disciplinary or trans-disciplinary approach to learning which focuses on effective teaching and learning. It also promotes problem-based learning (PBL). PBL is a scholar-centered pedagogy in which scholars learn about a subject through the experience of solving an open-ended problem. It enhances and encourages ongoing learning within a team environment.

Leader In Me
At Ivy Prep Academy we believe our scholars and staff are leaders. We use The Leader in Me, a whole-school transformation process by Franklin Covey.
The Leader in Me teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to scholars and creates a culture of scholar-empowerment based on the idea that every child is a leader.
