Ivy Preparatory Academy Announces New Executive Director
Effective July 1, 2026
Ivy Preparatory Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Elisa A. Falcó as its new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2026. Falcó brings more than a decade of leadership in Georgia's charter schools and will guide Ivy Prep into its next chapter of academic excellence, operational strength, and continued commitment to empowering young girls.
HONORING A LEGACY OF SERVICE
This transition marks the close of a distinguished era for Ivy Preparatory Academy. Dr. Charcia Nichols, who has served as Executive Director, is retiring after 30 years in education. Under her leadership, Ivy Prep established a strong school culture, deepened its commitment to the Whole Girl model, and built a community where scholars and families continue to thrive. The Governing Board and Ivy Prep community are grateful for her dedication and the lasting foundation she leaves behind.
A LEADER WITH A PROVEN TRACK RECORD
Falcó comes to Ivy Prep with a record of transforming school performance. Most recently, she served as Principal and Superintendent of Furlow Charter School, where academic outcomes advanced from meets to exceeds across all grade levels. During her tenure, the school's operational compliance score rose from 80 to 98 on the State Charter Schools Commission's Comprehensive Performance Framework — reflecting both instructional improvement and organizational discipline.
Prior to that role, Falcó served as Executive Vice President of School Services at the Georgia Charter Schools Association, where she provided governance training, strategic planning support, and leadership coaching to charter schools statewide. Her leadership has consistently focused on strengthening instructional systems, improving organizational alignment, and growing community demand and enrollment.
FALCO'S VISION FOR IVY PREP
"My leadership vision for Ivy Preparatory Academy is to build upon the strong foundation created by Dr. Nichols, her team, and the Governing Board. For the 2026–2027 school year, I will be heavily focused on increasing enrollment and staff retention, as well as preparing for successful charter renewal and accreditation processes. In terms of the academic program, my goal is to further increase scholar performance and opportunities while maintaining the Whole Girl educational model.
My leadership style is analytical and data-driven, with a strong focus on building relationships and transparency. I make decisions grounded in data and in the best interest of scholars. I look forward to serving the Ivy Prep community and getting to know everyone in the coming months."
THE GOVERNING BOARD WELCOMES NEW LEADERSHIP
"On behalf of the IPA Governing Board, congratulations to Ms. Elisa Falcó — welcome to our community. We are confident that your exceptional leadership experience and dedication to education will inspire our scholars. We look forward to working with you."
— Stephanie Twitty Carmon, Governing Board Member
